This wedding at the Muskegon Country Club was absolutely beautiful! The venue sits on top of the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, offering some of the prettiest views in the area. With its recently remodeled facility and large deck, it makes the perfect setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception. I’ve always heard great things about the food here, and this time it definitely lived up to the raves. It was fun to be back there to see the transitions they made with the new restaurant.

Takeaways from the Muskegon Country Club.

While the golf course itself has a few picturesque spots for photos, it can be somewhat limited if you’re looking for a wider variety. The Country Club no longer lets you move away much from the main building.  Luckily, Pere Marquette Beach and downtown Muskegon are just minutes away, offering stunning lakefront views, gardens, and unique architecture that make for amazing wedding photos. If you’re planning your wedding at Muskegon Country Club, setting aside a little time to go offsite for portraits is a great idea. This couple was such a joy to work with! I originally met them through another wedding I photographed, and it has been so fun watching these circles of friends grow. A few members of the wedding party were past clients of mine—I even took some of their senior pictures years ago—which makes documenting these milestones even more special.

Taylor is so smiley and bubbly. She and her girls were a blast to be around.  It was wonderful that they did a first look, one of my favorite things to do on the wedding day.  Greg was all smiles when he saw  Taylor for the first time. And how about that lipstick on Taylor, gorgeous!   Everything went smooth all day and it was a beautiful night for a wedding.  They ended the night sending off some lanterns.  Best Wishes to you both! Railside Golf Club Wedding Review

• Golf courses are always a good choice.  My experience as a wedding photographer is golf courses are always a wonderful choice to get married. The grounds are kept up immaculately.
• Railside has lots of photo locations and opportunities. They had a lot of great variety in walking distance, fields, bridge, barn, flowers, bridges
• White tents. I love white tents, it provides beautiful lighting even in darker situations
• Wedding coordination support. There was staff on-site to help with the wedding
• Overall, I really liked this venue and hope to visit there again!

Spring Lake Country Club Weddings | Jamie May Photography

What a great day with Nicole and Rob!  They got married at St. Patrick’s Church in Grand Haven.  Then we heading over to Lake Michigan and then to the Spring Lake Country Club.  Rob and Nicole are wonderful to work with. They are fun, happy,  and Rob is always cracking a joke.  I love how they walked into the reception hall, following being announced, and went right to their choreographed dance.   Everyone then joined and the dancing started immediately for about 15 minutes before dismissal for speeches.  Otherwise, I am unsure if you would have successfully removed anyone off the dance floor! It was quite the dance party, which I love!   I am so happy for the two of them.  And let’s not forget about the bridesmaids gold dresses, eh?!!?  Gorgeous!  So thankful to be a part of your day! x0x0x0

Rain, rain go away!  Some days are like that. I was so thrilled that despite the weather we had a fantastic day with Ben and Abby. First off, these two are so pleasant and fun to be around.  I love Ben’s sense of humor.  And Abby’s gentle, kind spirit.  They made us feel like part of the family all day!  They also picked out a beautiful venue, Watermark Country Club, that helped make the pictures awesome, even though the weather never cooperated.  I love the venue. There is an  open floor plan with lots of windows. In addition, the venue has a great space to work with outside in the rain!  Another benefit after photographing over a 100 weddings is that we are ready for any challenge that may come our way.

I am so happy for Ben and Abby. They first connected at a Ranch that their families have been going to for years.  I think over 9/10ths of the wedding guest were from this place! The sense of community was awesome.  There were so many touching moments throughout the night, including the ‘best man’ speech.  I definitely got choked up and had tears at that point!!!  Wishing you both  many more happy years!!!! x0x0x0x

• The weather was bad, but it was ok because they have a fantastic facility for indoor ceremony
• They have a ton of natural light which is always nice for beautiful pictures
• The grounds are well cared for and the facility

Fall weddings in Michigan

Fall weddings may be one of the most popular times to have pictures. My inbox is full and wedding fill fast.  This was the first time I have ever been to Thornapple Pointe Golf course for a wedding. The facility and grounds were absolutely stunning on this picture perfect fall day. In addition, I think this may be one of the most photo opportunities that we have had at one location.   Furthermore, this is an amazing fall setting, there is water, bridges and fields!

Megan and Matthew are so adorable. I loved the way they looked at each other and how excited they both were.  We started the day with Megan’s getting ready pictures and then headed straight to the golf course where Matthew and Megan did their first look.  I love how he gave her the biggest bear hug ever! And how about those clouds in the sky?! Awesome.

We then made our way around the golf carts and rode the carts that know how to drive themselves. Apparently, I have not been golfing in a while, but the carts don’t allow me to fly over hills anymore. We stopped on a hill that gave a breath taking view of the water and all the beautiful fall colors in Michigan! What a fantastic day.  Megan and Matthew’s friends are a riot. We had so much fun with them on the party bus and throughout the day taking pictures.  We had lots of laughs when we threw Matthew up in the air.  Megan and Matthew started the dancing off right, with a elegant first dance.

They also had a variety of themed cupcakes that were delicious!
